Marin Elite Gymnastics Academy (MEGA) is pleased to offer gymnastics training classes for boys and girls, ages one and up. We have a fully equipped facility with all Olympic events including trampoline, tumble track and two double mini trampolines. Our program includes developmental classes for beginning, intermediate and advance students.  We are also host to competitive gymnastics and a co-ed trampoline team. Our San Rafael location has been proudly seeing Marin families for our 40 years.

Here at MEGA, your childs' success is important to us. Our staff is comprised of highly trained gymnastics professionals who have expertise working with children.  We are dedicated to providing your child an opportunity to explore their abilities, develop life skills, and recognize a true sense of accomplishment. We offer a small teacher to student ratio to ensure quality instruction in the most effective learning environment. We are a USA Gymnastics Member Club and structure our classes and competitive teams under their rules and guidelines.

Staff and Coaches

All instructors at MEGA are certified through USA Gymnastics as an Instructor, Developmental Teacher, or Advanced Teacher. Every year our staff completes courses such as Gymnastics Fundamentals, Safety and Risk Management, and U110 Safe Sport. Our Coaches are also trained in child and adult First Aid/ CPR.

Our staff continues to improve itself by attending Regional and National Clinics designed to provide the latest techniques and methods for coaching. We are dedicated to providing each individual child an opportunity to explore their own abilities and learn something new.

Arrival and Pickups

Be sure your student arrives 5 minutes before (no earlier please) his/her scheduled class time. Children should not run or participate in gymnastics in the lobby area for safety reasons. Please pick up your child on time or call to inform us if you know you will be late picking up. We will instruct your child to wait inside the building and you should escort them from the building to your car. During peak times please know that our parking lot can be crowded. Staff and coaches will assist with double parking as needed.

All students should be picked up promptly after class. For safety reasons, we cannot allow students to wait for more than 10 minutes after class concludes. Siblings not in class cannot remain at gym without adult/guardian.

If you are not able to pick up in time, we can assist you in finding a different day/time for your child's class.

Skill Tracking and Evaluations

Skills for Levels 1-4 are tested every 8 weeks during our school year program (September through June). Students must pass all skills in a level to move up. Evaluations will be offered for those transferring from a different facility, or to former students who wish to re-enroll in a class they have been out of for 6 months or longer.  Level 3/4 classes and competitive teams are by invitation only.

Adult Participation

Our tots and toddler classes require adult participation at all times during their class. Adults are not allowed to be on any equipment unless they are assisting a child.  Once an athlete reaches the preschool level (ages 3-4) we ask that adults remain in the viewing area.

Siblings and Friends

Siblings and friends of registered students must remain in the viewing area. Students may only participate during the specific class, day, and time they are registered for. Siblings watching class must have guardian supervision.

Babies, toddlers, or younger siblings CANNOT be on the gym floor at any time, unless they are enrolled, and it is currently their regular class time.

Team Locker Area and Stairs

The upstairs loft is for TEAM MEMBERS AND COACHES ONLY. Please keep the stairs free to allow our gymnasts to access their lockers. The stairs are not a safe place to sit or view your child’s class.

Class enrollments cannot be refunded. Please let us know before the 1st of each month if you need to drop.

You will receive your monthly bill via email by the 20th of each month, for the following month, to the primary email address on file. You will receive an email notification immediately if your payment is not received by the 1st. You will receive a call from us if your payment is not received by the 5th. Your child will be dropped from their class if payment is not received by the 8th. We cannot guarantee that space in your child's current class will remain available. We will do our best to provide all available options at the time your payment is received.

In order to participate, payment must be made in advance of participation.

Class Make-ups

Makeups are offered only once per month, per enrolled class.

Please note that during some months your child may receive 5 weeks of classes, and you would not need to schedule a makeup class.

If you miss more than one class in one calendar month, we can only offer one makeup class per month (per enrollment).

Once you drop from your class, you are no longer eligible for makeup classes.

There are no refunds or credits for missing classes. All makeups must be scheduled in advance with staff. All makeups must be used before school year classes end, and cannot be applied to summer camps or classes.

Sick Policy

At MEGA we strive to provide every child with a fun and safe class environment. Bringing your child to gymnastics class with any of the symptoms listed below puts them at risk of injury and puts other children and coaches at risk of getting sick.

If your child exhibits any of these symptoms, they may be asked to leave class so please keep them at home to rest:

  • a profusely runny nose

  • significant respiratory distress

  • an undiagnosed rash or rash attributable to a contagious illness or condition

  • unexplained lethargy

  • the inability to participate in class with reasonable comfort

  • vomiting within the previous 24 hours

Private Lessons

Private lessons are for current students enrolled in classes (ages 6+) or a competitive team. Lessons are for students with a specific goal and cannot exceed 2x a month.

Parents must notify the front office to drop a student from class.  You are responsible for payment for your student's classes WHETHER OR NOT YOUR STUDENT ATTENDS CLASS until the time you notify our front office of your drop. Please do not rely on your child to let us know that he/she will no longer be attending classes. Please do not rely on your instructor to communicate this information.
